Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 30 April 2026
These terms and conditions form the basis on which you can visit our website and buy from us. Please read them carefully — they contain important information about your rights and ours. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
1. About us
The Wooden Pool Store is a trading style of HeatPumps4Pools Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 07662022. Our registered office is Unit 3 Sovereign Business Park, Cranes Farm Road, Basildon, Essex, SS14 3JD. You can contact us at enquiries@thewoodenpoolstore.co.uk or on 01268 206560.
2. The contract between us
When you place an order on our website, you are making an offer to purchase. We must receive payment in full before the order can be accepted. A legally binding contract is formed when we dispatch the goods or, for bespoke pools, when we confirm your order has entered production.
We will email you to confirm receipt of your order. That confirmation alone does not constitute a contract.
3. Accuracy of information
We take care to ensure that prices, product descriptions, dimensions, weights and capacities on the site are accurate at the time of publishing. Specifications are approximate and supplied for guidance. Where there is a material error in the description or price of a product, we reserve the right to refuse or cancel the order and refund any payment made.
4. Intellectual property
All rights — including copyright, trade marks and database rights — in this website and its content are owned by or licensed to HeatPumps4Pools Limited. You may view and print pages for your own personal use. Copying, republishing or commercial use of any content without our written permission is prohibited.
5. Availability
All orders are subject to availability. If a product is not in stock or becomes unavailable after you have ordered, we will contact you to offer an alternative, an updated delivery date or a full refund.
6. Price
All prices on the site are in pounds sterling and include VAT at the prevailing rate. Prices are correct at the time of being entered into the system but may change due to currency fluctuations or supplier increases before your order is confirmed. Delivery charges, where applicable, are shown at checkout or quoted separately.
7. Payment
We accept payment by credit/debit card (processed securely by Stripe) and by bank transfer (BACS) for orders confirmed by our team. If full payment cannot be obtained, we reserve the right to refuse, suspend or cancel your order.
8. Delivery
Most equipment and accessory orders qualify for free UK mainland delivery. Some destinations (Highlands, islands, Northern Ireland) may incur an additional charge — we will tell you before you pay. Delivery to non-UK addresses is by quotation only.
We aim to deliver in-stock items within 30 days of order, subject to carrier availability. Wooden pool kits and large equipment are delivered on a high-sided lorry; you must arrange 4–5 able-bodied people to unload. Delivery is to kerbside or driveway entrance only and does not include carrying goods into your garden or property.
Most deliveries require a signature. Please inspect the goods on arrival and sign as “damaged” or “unchecked” if you cannot fully inspect them at the time. Any damage or shortage must be reported to us within 2 working days of delivery.
9. Cancellation and returns
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you may cancel a standard online order within 14 calendar days of receiving the goods, with the following exceptions:
- Bespoke and made-to-order pools. Wooden pools are assembled to your individual specification and cannot be cancelled once they have entered production.
- Spare parts. Spare parts are non-returnable unless faulty.
- Hygienic items. Pool chemicals and similar consumables cannot be returned once seals have been broken.
Returns made between days 15 and 28 may be accepted at our discretion, subject to a 25% restocking charge plus VAT, with the customer arranging and paying for return carriage. Goods must be returned unused and in their original packaging.
10. Faulty goods and statutory rights
If goods are faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose, you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — including, depending on the circumstances, the right to a repair, replacement or refund. Please contact us as soon as you discover the issue.
11. Warranty
Pools and equipment are supplied with the manufacturer's warranty, the terms of which vary by product. Warranty cover assumes that products are installed and operated in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Where a fault is caused by incorrect installation, misuse, accidental damage or normal wear and tear, the warranty may not apply and we may charge for investigation, call-out or repair.
Spare parts supplied under warranty do not include labour costs for fitting replacement units.
12. Installation and electrical work
All products must be installed in line with the manufacturer's instructions for the warranty to remain valid. All electrical work must be carried out by a qualified electrician. The customer is responsible for ensuring that their electrical supply, pool pump, flow rate and site conditions are suitable for the equipment they are buying.
13. Heat pump and equipment sizing
Any sizing guidance we provide is based on the manufacturer's specifications and the information you give us about your pool and site. Heat pump performance varies with ambient temperature, water temperature, wind exposure and pool cover use, so we cannot guarantee that a unit will match its rated output in every condition. The customer remains ultimately responsible for verifying that any product ordered is suitable for their requirements.
14. Customer responsibility for information provided
We will not be held responsible for incorrect product recommendations, specification errors, or installation or compatibility failures that arise as a result of the customer failing to provide full, accurate and complete information about their pool size, installation environment, electrical supply or any other relevant specifications. Any advice, sizing or product recommendations given by us are based entirely on the information provided by the customer.
15. Liability
We are responsible for losses you suffer as a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our negligence, but we are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable at the time the contract was formed. Subject to your statutory rights, we do not accept liability for consequential losses including (without limitation) failed engineer visits, loss of use, travel costs, labour costs, electricity costs, loss of profit or business interruption.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
16. Privacy and cookies
Our use of your personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy. Information about the cookies we use is in our Cookie Policy.
17. Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform our obligations where this is caused by events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, supplier failure, industrial action, acts of government, fire, flood or telecommunications outages. Where such an event occurs, we will contact you as soon as practicable to agree a revised delivery date or, if appropriate, refund your payment.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the version published on the site at the time you placed your order. The date at the top of this page shows when these terms were last updated.
19. Law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with them are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
