Eco Wooden Pool Range
There are many cheap wooden swimming pools available on the market today. But a wood pool is a significant investment and so you should be wary of deals that seem to be too good to be true! Our Eco Wooden Pool is produced by the UK’s leading wooden swimming pool manufacturer.
The Eco wooden pool range has been launched this year to give you an entry level wooden swimming pool without sacrificing component quality and can be used in ground or above ground.
The Eco wooden swimming pool is constructed using high quality 44mm thick redwood timbers that are sourced from Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) approved forests. The timbers are high-pressure treated with a tanalith preservative unlike many other cheaper alternatives that are just dipped in a water based timber treatment.
The Eco wooden pool also uses use a high quality pump and sand filter- equipment that is more commonly found with the far more expensive in-ground pools.
A matching wooden pool enclosure is also available as an option for secure enclosing of the pool filtration, heating and other plant required for effective operation of your pool. Can be mounted against the pool wall or remotely.
Support braces must be used when the stretched octagonal pool is built above ground, and preferably when built in-ground, although if the pool is properly excavated and back-filled with the correct grade of pea shingle this may not be necessary.
The Eco range of pools are specifically designed pool packages to give you the luxury of a complete wooden pool package at a low cost, and comes in 3 sizes:
2. Sizes available:
Small Eco – Internal Size: 3.71m x 3.71m. ( External size: 4.24m x 4.24m.) Depth: 1.15m
At The Wooden Pool Store we love big pools, but we recognize the higher purchase cost and bigger running costs are not for everyone, so that is why we have sourced this great entry level wooden pool. The Eco Octagonal Wooden Pool measuring 3.71m by 3.71m is ideal for those on a budget or that simply do not have a huge garden or just do not require a larger pool. The great thing about octagonal wooden pools is that they are very strong and this means that once installed you won’t have to worry about it in bad weather. This Eco pool model also comes with a sand filter and pump, which is typically only sold with more expensive pool models.
Large Eco – Internal Size: 5.08m x 5.08m. (External size: 5.61m x 5.61m) Depth:1.15m.
With low cost wooden pools you often find that you pay for what you get, but there is nothing cheap to the feel on this construction, with high quality features to be found everywhere you look on this model. The Eco Octagonal Wooden Pool at 5.5m by 5.5m offers a very good sized space to swim in at an affordable price for a pool that can be used all year round. Its solid construction means that unlike an inflatable pool you won’t have to take it down when winter sets in. The Eco range is new this year and offers an entry level wooden pool but with no sacrifices in quality at all. This Eco pool model also comes with a sand filter and pump, which is typically only sold with more expensive pool models.
Large Stretched Eco – Internal size: 7.5m x 5m. (External size: 8.05m x 5.61m.) Depth: 1.15m

5. Heating the pool
If you are looking to heat your pool, you have the choice of two options:
- Electric Heater which is cheap to buy but expensive to run
- Heat Pump which is cheap to run but slightly more expensive to buy.
This pool has 11m3 of water so these heating options will be ideal:
1/ Electric Heater which is cheap to buy but expensive to run and will heat your pool all year long.
You will achieve 1 Kw of heat output into the water for every 1 Kw of power used from your supply. So works out a lot more expensive to run than the Heat pump option.
|4.5Kw Elecro Evolution Electric Pool Heater,
(Must be kept Indoors or in Plant Housing)
2/ If you are looking to use a Heat Pump to keep the running cost down then you have to decide which months of the year you want to swim:
- Summer (May – Sep)
- Extended Season (Apr – Oct)
- All Year
Once you have decided this you can than look to see which heat pump is the best one for you. Now this will vary depending on the pool’s location in the country as the outside air temperature is drastically different in Scotland from Cornwall’s air temperatures (taking into account the worst temperatures at night and the coldest parts of the period you choose).
We can help size the correct unit for you to ensure you achieve the desired water temperature (normal temp for this pool is 28 degrees, and it should not be heated over 30 degrees as this reduces the life span of the liner).
As a rough guide for this pool we have added some options at the top of this listing for you, but here is a explanation to the season to expect from each. Please bear in mind that you can never over size a heat pump but the results of under sizing it will mean you will not have the water temperature you require for the period you want. In addition to this, if you are further up North please increase the size of your heat pump to compensate for the colder outside air temperatures:

7. Installation and Assembly
Please read and follow all instructions supplied with the pool & all equipment. Extra equipment purchased may require professional installation. Please call us with any questions.
A qualified electrician should be used to run the power supply to the pool and to make the necessary connections.
It is recommended that the filtration equipment unless housed in the (Wooden Pool filtration Enclosure as listed on the optional extras) is at least 3.5m from the pool and must be connected to a suitable weatherproof RCD-protected socket outlet
The pipework kit included with the filtration kit should be sufficient to achieve this. If you are planing to install the flow equipment further away more pipework may be needed.
Also a Bypass system may be needed for installing a heater which is also available on our sister website.
A smooth concrete slab is the best base for a wooden pool. Speak to a trusted local builder for advice on your specific placement area. Failure to set up the pool flat and on compact level ground could result in the pool’s collapse or injury to users.
The pool can be assembled by most competent DIY installers, or the customer can choose to use a local carpenter or handy-man to assemble the pool.
However we do have some engineers across the country that we may be able to recommend, please give us your full address for us to take a look for a recommendations for you in your area.
You can fit it above ground, below ground or partially in-ground – whatever suits your needs. You can choose to fit the wooden pool yourself or have a local expert do some or all of it for you, the choice is yours. We would recommend that you are reasonably experienced at self-build if you intend to install it yourself.
PLEASE NOTE: . We recommend that filtration is turned OFF when the pool is in operation.
